Distribution of Wealth

Wealth and Poverty

Distribution of wealth is the process in which the wealth is shared amongst the people. Currently, in the world today, there is a chasm in terms of the gap between rich and poor and it’s getting worse with the rich getting richer and of course, the poor are getting poorer! It is blatantly unfair, inhumane, and unnecessary to horde most of the wealth between so few. In 2017 approximately 1% or 75 million of the 7.5 billion people in this world owned 50.1% of the world’s wealth. This was an increase from 45.5% in 2001.
  • In 2017 the total wealth of the world was estimated at $280 trillion, $140 trillion owned by only 1% percent of the people.
  • Now in 2021 the total wealth of the world in almost $420 trillion – a 50% increase in only 4 years!
Despite a generally well-meaning education sector, and various religious institutions, the message is falling flat. They tell us, and our children, that “sharing is caring’ and that we should be good and take care of our fellow man. That message is clearly falling on the deaf uncaring ears of many of the people with the wealth and power.

We are fundraising for Save the Children, and we would love your help!

Funds raised will help to provide vulnerable children in Australia and overseas with access to quality education, healthcare, and protection from harm.
