Population
By the end of the 21st century, the human population is expected to have reached at least 10 billion. It's incredible to think this possible especially since there were only 190 million of us 2,000 years ago. Currently we stand at just over 7 billion people. This population boom, particularly over the last 300 years, show little signs of slowing.
The causes and effects, of uncontrolled population growth, on humanity should be of great concern to us all. Are there too many people? Are there enough resources for everyone to live a reasonable life? Does our current political and economic system intentionally create this outcome?
How are we going to manage this incredibly large issue without ignoring and pretending because it doesn’t affect me, that it doesn’t exist?
At the very least we should be aiming to take care of, and raise the basic standard of living of, the people we already have!
They / we are humans after all!
