Resources and Environment

The Scarcity definition of Economics is no longer valid as we now live in an Age of Abundance.
The last 100 years has seen so much innovation and change that the world is barely recognisable then compared to now.
Surely the education system is not immune to disruption and change. Economics, however, appears to be anchored in the past teaching outdated definitions and shaping outdated thinking as a result.
In the 1930’s the renowned Economist, John Maynard Keynes, suggested there would be a time when the benefits of a greed driven economy would be outweighed by the negatives!
THAT TIME HAS COME!
There are many examples of renewable resources or, for all intents and purposes, unending and abundant resources.
Sun / Solar, Water, Air, and even Human resources are all in this world in plentiful supply. Human intellect and “brain power” providing innovation exist today like never before - especially with the population explosion we have experienced in the 20th century that has continued into the 21st century. These resources are all keys that we have in abundance and are foundations for all life on this planet. They are virtually unending it their supply.
That is, unless we do irreparable damage to our world via economic, nuclear or climate related disasters!
We are currently at a juncture, in the history of earth, where we have real tangible ability to create a better place for everyone.
